Josias Kumpf - Nazi Guard Deported
March 19th, 2009Josias Kumpf was deported to Austria today. A citizen of the United States since 1964, he particpated in the killing of nearly 8,000 Jews. Josias Kumpf was a guard for two concentration camps, and followed rather gruesome orders given to him by his superiors. He supervised the building of rocket launching platfroms in France as well.
Although the U.S. was successful in deporting Josias Kumpf in 2003, they failed to deport Josias Kumpf at that time. However, they have now succeeded in serving him justice. Others who were involved in similar activites and currently reside in the United States will likely be facing a similar fate. The United States has now taken a strong interest in serving these individuals justice for what they did during World War II.
It is unclear why Josias Kumpf was not deported sooner than the year 2009, however, we can now at least somewhat rest in peace knowing that this individual is no longer in the U.S. It is unclear how many other individuals the U.S. hopes to deprive of their citizenship and return them to their home country, however, we can expect more to follow with question. At the time of his deportation today, Josias Kumpf was 83 years of age. It may seem ridiculous to be punishing an individual of his age, however, justice is justice regardless of what age you are.
