HIGH COURT OF DELHI : NEW DELHI
Applications are invited from the Indian Nationals (Citizens of India as defined in the Constitution of India or under any law made by the Parliament to regulate the rights for citizenship) for filling up the existing vacancies and the vacancies that may fall vacant during the calendar year, 2009 to the following posts on the establishment of this Court:-
1. SENIOR PERSONAL ASSISTANT– (Likely vacancies 8) (Revised pay band of Rs.9300-34800+ Grade Pay of Rs. 4600)
Essential Qualifications:- Graduate with speed of not less than 110 w.p.m. in shorthand and typing speed of 45 w.p.m. on computer with proficiency in computer.
Age:- Age should not be below 18 years and above 32 years as on 01.01.2009. The upper age limit for members of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes shall be 37 years, for Other Backward Classes 35 years. The upper age relaxation for physically disabled persons, whose one leg or both legs are affected, shall be 10 years (13 years for OBC & 15 years for SC/ST). There shall be no upper age limit for persons serving in this Court or the Courts subordinate to this Court. The relaxation in upper age limit will not be applicable to the candidates who are working in other Govt. Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings.
2. PERSONAL ASSISTANT – (Likely vacancies 43) (Revised pay band of Rs.9300-34800+ Grade Pay of Rs. 4200)
Essential Qualification:- Graduate with speed of not less than 100 w.p.m. in shorthand and typing speed of 40 w.p.m. on computer with proficiency in computer.
Age:-Age should not be below 18 years and over 27 years as on 01.01.2009. The upper age limit for members of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes shall be 32 years and for other Backward Classes 30 years. The upper age relaxation for physically disabled persons, whose one leg or both legs are affected, shall be 10 years (13 years for OBC & 15 years for SC/ST). There shall be no upper age limit for persons serving in this Court or the Courts subordinate to this Court. The relaxation in upper age limit will not be applicable to the candidates who are working in other Govt. Departments/ Public Sector Undertakings.
Consistent with the maintenance of efficiency of administration and subject to availability, 15 per cent posts shall be reserved for Scheduled Castes, 7.5 per cent posts for Scheduled Tribes, 27 percent posts for Other Backward Classes and 3 per cent posts for physically disabled persons (i.e. One leg or both legs are affected) in the cadre of Personal Assistant.
Mode of Selection for both the posts :- Selection shall be made on the basis of written Examination comprising of one paper in English language (Essay, Grammar and Translation). The candidates who are declared qualified in English language paper will be called to appear for a shorthand test. The short-listed candidates would also undergo typing test on computer and interview.
Application on plain paper giving necessary particulars i.e. (1)Post applied for (2)Name in full(in Block Letters), (3)Father's/ Husband's Name (4)Permanent Address, (5) Correspondence Address, (6) Telephone Number, (7) Date of Birth (as recorded in matriculation certificate and Age as on 01-01-2009), (8) Whether a citizen of India, (9) Educational qualifications, (10) Experience, if any, (11) Extent of computer knowledge, (12) whether in Government service, if so, name of office or department, (13) whether a member of a Scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribe/Other Backward Classes/Physically Disabled, if so, state the caste/tribe/disability and also attach a copy of certificate issued by a competent authority, (14) Details of Demand Draft/Postal Order (15) a list of certificates attached to the application accompanied by a Demand Draft/ Postal order of Rs. 200/- (Rupees two hundred only) (Non-refundable). drawn in favour of Registrar General, Delhi High Court (No fee shall be payable by the SC/ST/PH Candidates) and two recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted Officer alongwith attested copies of testimonial should be sent by Registered A.D. Post with the words “APPLICATIONS FOR THE POST OF:- ” superscribed on the envelope, addressed to the Joint Registrar(Estt.), Delhi High Court, Sher Shah Road, New Delhi-110003, so as to reach him not later than 25.02.2009. Application form can also be downloaded from the website of this Court viz. www.delhihighcourt.nic.in.
The candidates already in Government Service should apply through proper channel. Incomplete/ Unsigned applications and applications received after due date or not accompanied by the requisite 'NOC' from their employers, shall be rejected summarily and no inquiry thereto will be entertained.
A candidate applying for both the posts shall have to make separate applications with separate requisite fee.
The date of the examination will be intimated later on.
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all stages of examination viz. Written Examination, Shorthand test and the interview will be purely provisional subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any stage before or after the said tests/interview, it is found that any candidate does not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference. While applying for the posts the applicants should also bear in mind that the selected candidates will have to work even at odd hours and on holidays.
No TA/DA will be payable to the candidates for appearing in the tests and interview.
