Chris Brown has been arrested by the LAPD on domestic violence charges.

As we reported earlier, Brown was wanted by the LAPD on the same day girlfriend Rihanna had withdrawn from performing at the Grammys due to bruises on her face.
Brown has been formally charged with one felony count and bail was set at $50,000.
According to breaking reports, representatives of Brown paid the bail and he is now released, with a date set for him to return.

Chris Brown surrendered to Los Angeles police on Sunday evening regarding a felony battery investigation of the R&B singer, LAPD officer Karen Smith confirmed.
"He turned himself in around 7 p.m. to one of our stations and is being interviewed by detectives right now," Smith said of Brown, 19, who was taken into custody at around 6:30 p.m. PST and was booked for criminal threat at 7:41 p.m.
He posted $50,000 bail and was released. At least one celebrity news source says the victim in the alleged battery was his girlfriend, Rihanna.
The case is being presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office; additional charges may be filed. He is due in court March 5.
Chris Brown is being investigated for an incident that occurred early Sunday morning near Hancock Park in Los Angeles after an unidentified woman phoned 911.
The woman claimed she got in a fight with the singer and he attacked her.
Police say the woman had visible injuries. When officers arrived, they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene, police say.
While Brown appeared unscathed, sources tell E! News that the alleged victim was in fact Rihanna, 20, and she suffered visible bruises on her face during an early morning confrontation. No report has officially named the victim.
UPDATE: The Los Angeles Times has now identified Rihanna as the alleged victim as well, citing LAPD sources familiar with the case. Due to the department's protocol, however, victims' names are not released to the public at this stage.
